Christine Le Jeune worked on the Immigrant Entrepreneurship project from August 2011 until December 2011. Prior to joining the GHI, Christine worked at the Federal Bureau of Investigation and as a national security analyst at the Association of the U.S. Army’s Institute of Land Warfare. From 2008-2009, she was a visiting fellow at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation’s Moscow, Russia office. Christine holds an M.A. from Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, as well as an M.A. in International Relations from the Free University Berlin, Germany. She earned her B.A. in International Relations and German from Mount Holyoke College, Massachusetts.

- Teaser<p> <p>Joris Mercelis is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of History and the Sarton Centre for History of Science at Ghent University in Belgium. His current research focuses on issues of openness and intellectual property in the development of photographic technology since the mid-nineteenth century. Previously, in his Ph.D. project, he used the career of Belgian-American chemical innovator Leo H. Baekeland (1863-1944) as a case study for examining science-industry relations.</p></p>

- Page Description<p>Lisa Minardi is an assistant curator at Winterthur Museum and executive director of The Speaker’s House, a non-profit organization that is restoring the home of Frederick Muhlenberg in Trappe, Pennsylvania. She is a Ph.D. candidate in the History of American Civilization program at the University of Delaware, where she is studying the German population of early Philadelphia for her dissertation, and holds a B.A. in history and museum studies from Ursinus College (2004) and an M.A. from the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture (2006). She has produced numerous publications and exhibitions on the Pennsylvania Germans, including Pastors & Patriots: The Muhlenberg Family of Pennsylvania (Berman Museum of Art, 2011); Drawn with Spirit: Pennsylvania German Fraktur from the Joan and Victor Johnson Collection (Philadelphia Museum of Art, 2015); A Colorful Folk: Pennsylvania Germans & the Art of Everyday Life (Winterthur Museum, 2015) and Quill & Brush: Pennsylvania German Fraktur and Material Culture (Free Library of Philadelphia, 2015).</p>
