Marianne S. Wokeck is Chancellor’s Professor of History at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, where she teaches early American history. She was educated in Germany and the United States (Staatsexamen [History and English], University of Hamburg; Ph.D. [History], Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania). Her major research interests focus on immigration and ethnicity and scholarly editing.
