Jennifer S. Furlong
Jennifer S. Furlong is the director of career planning and professional development for doctoral students at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. She also is a scholar of book history who will soon complete a master’s degree in library and information science from the Palmer School, Long Island University. Her academic training is in eighteenth-century French literature, history, and culture and she earned her Ph.D. in Romance Languages at the University of Pennsylvania. With Julie Miller Vick, she is the co-author of the Career Talk column in The Chronicle of Higher Education and The Academic Job Search Handbook, 4th ed. (Philadelphia: U. of Pennsylvania Press, 2009). Like many of those who write about Edward Stratemeyer, she is a long-time fan of his work and collects first-editions of his Nancy Drew series.
