Eli Cook is an historian of American capitalism. He has been appointed assistant professor of modern American history at Haifa University. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard University and has received postdoctoral fellowships from Rutgers University and the Fulbright Foundation. He is currently working on a book for Harvard University Press on the history of social quantification entitled “The Pricing of Progress: Economic Indicators and the Capitalization of American Life.”
