Bernice Heilbrunn
Bernice Heilbrunn is a Lecturer in Jewish Studies at the University of Houston, where she recently earned her PhD in U.S. history. Her dissertation, Faith as Motive for Reform: Emil G. Hirsch and Chicago Jewish Progressives, examined Hirsch's transnational roots and his focus on social justice. She has a B.A. and M.A. in History from Harvard and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Her special interests are German-Jewish and American Jewish history.
