VeriThin Watch, Face and Movement

VeriThin Watch, Face and Movement

Introduced in 1904, Gruen’s VeriThin (also spelled Verithin or Veri-Thin) was about one-third thinner than conventional movements. The hairspring and balance wheel of this VeriThin pocket watch were made using “Conoruma,” Gruen’s proprietary alloy, which was anti-magnetic and impervious to temperature changes. Conoruma was made from nickel, steel, chromium, manganese, tungsten, and carbon.
