Portrait of Robert Justus Kleberg II, n.d.

Second-generation German immigrant Robert Justus Kleberg II helped make King Ranch the largest cattle ranch in the United States and one of the most prosperous. Today, he is remembered not only for the achievements of the ranch under his leadership (1885 to 1932) but also for his contributions to the urban and economic development of South Texas as a whole.
