Filene, Edward A. as part of the League of Nations “Traveling Troupe,” February 1919

February 1919

Filene saw the League of Nations as the world’s best hope for peace. In February 1919, he joined the League of Nations “Traveling Troupe,” which crossed the United States by train, stopping in various places to advocate for the League. Filene is fifth from the left and former U.S. president William Howard Taft is ninth from the left. The group was photographed in Grand Island, Nebraska.
