Flat Top Manor, Panoramic View, ca. 1900

Description

This archival photograph shows Moses and Bertha Cone’s country estate, Flat Top Manor, at around the time of its completion. The mansion’s 3,600-acre grounds included carriage roads, lakes, flower gardens, and vast orchards, all of which were open to the public. The mansion, which still exists today, is located in Blowing Rock, North Carolina, about 120 miles due west of Greensboro.
