Assembly-line production in a Teddy Bear Factory, 1915

Description

As part of the “Fordist” revolution in manufacturing, assembly lines were introduced to divide the production process into simple, repetitive tasks. As a result, many workers felt a loss of control and autonomy in their workplace. This photograph shows female workers on an assembly line in a teddy bear factory, 1915.
