Poles and Russians Immigrating to America, ca. 1905


Polish and Russian passengers ride in the steerage of a ship heading to America from Europe in the early 1900s. At that time, most newcomers to America were Catholic, Orthodox, and Jewish immigrants from Southern and Eastern Central Europe, and Russia.
