Oscar Koehler as President of the Saengerfest, 1898


Within Davenport society, Oscar Koehler was perhaps best known as the president of the 1898 Saengerfest, which drew upwards of 3,000 German-American singing club members to Davenport for a gala festival in the summer of 1898. From: Davenport Illustrated Saengerfest Souvenir Book, July 1898, p. 2.
