Newspaper Advertisement for the A. Schoenhut Company
This advertisement for the A. Schoenhut Company appeared in 1912, the year of founder Albert Schoenhut’s death. It featured two of the company’s most profitable and revolutionary toys – the Humpty Dumpty Circus, first sold in 1903, and the Schoenhut “All Wood Perfection Art Doll,” which was introduced in 1911. The A. Schoenhut Company first made a name for itself as a manufacturer of toy pianos and musical instruments, and its legacy still rests on that foundation. The Humpty Dumpty Circus and the Schoenhut “All Wood Perfection Art Doll,” however, were the products that helped the company achieve widespread popularity and financial success.
