Gruen Military Watches

1918

Wristwatches became a masculine accessory during World War I. By 1916, it had become fashionable for all men to wear military-style wristwatches. Gruen introduced their line of military wristwatches in 1918, the same year that the company published A Worthy Company of Watchmakers, a lavishly illustrated company history. This page, which appears in that publication, shows the Gruen military pocket timepiece and the Gruen military wrist watch. From: A Worthy Company of Watchmakers.
