Diagrams of the VeriThin and Ultra-VeriThin Watches
Introduced in 1904, Gruen’s VeriThin (also spelled Verithin) was about one-third thinner than conventional movements. It became one of the company’s most popular models. It was expensive: priced at $50 and up at a time when the average wage was around 22 cents per hour. The Ultra-VeriThin was introduced in 1924. The price ranged from $85 to $100 (approximately $1,120 to $1,320 in 2011). From: Gruen Standardized Parts for the Trade, Catalogue B, 1926.
