Anheuser’s beer production statistics

May 2, 1880, issue of St. Louis’s German-language Anzeiger des Westens (Gazette of the West) showing statistics for Anheuser’s beer production for the past five years. The issue was published the day Eberhard Anheuser died. It was in keeping with Anheuser’s resistance to placing commercial advertisements for his company’s beer in newspapers and instead relying on positive publicity from newspaper stories of the brewery’s success to sell beer.
