An Act for the relief of Christopher Bechtler
The act was introduced into the House of Representatives on January 31, 1831 by North Carolina congressman Samuel P. Carson. It was presented to the Senate on February 10, 1831 and was signed by President Jackson on March 3, 1831. Bechtler did submit patents to the U.S. Patent Office on October 5, 1831 but a fire at the patent office in 1836 destroyed all records of his designs.
