| University of Oregon

Richard L. Bland is an anthropologist in the Museum of Natural and Cultural History at the University of Oregon. His area of research is arctic archaeology, more specifically the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. The Aleutian Islands and Southeast Alaska were regions occupied by Russians in the late 1700s and early 1800s, a time corresponding to that of Traugott Bromme and therefore his interest in Bromme’s writings.
